Guidance for parents/carers
Our school colours are royal blue and white – school uniform items sweatshirts, cardigans, fleeces, shower-proofs and polo shirts as well as book bags can be purchased through school. A price list and order forms are available from the main campus office, alternatively order directly from our supplier, TAG Teamwear. Grey trousers and skirts/pinafores complement these throughout the year, although in the warmer months long shorts/cropped trousers and checked dresses can be worn. We recognise local suppliers also have similar items. Shoes should be of a sensible, smart, polishable design appropriate to a school environment, and be black in colour.
For PE, children need to be appropriately dressed to be able to move freely and safely. PE kit/clothes in school colours of royal blue and white will be worn if working away from school or with another school. A sense of identity is in keeping with an overall team spirit.
Indoor PE: white T-shirt and navy sports shorts, bare feet unless there is a medical problem when plimsolls (not trainers) should be worn until the problem clears // Dance: PE shoes (plimsolls) or bare feet // Outdoor PE: white T-shirt & navy sports shorts; plimsolls/trainers or appropriate P.E. shoes; sweatshirt / tracksuit // A named PE bag must be used for storage (can be purchased from school).
If children want their ears pierced this should be done during the summer holiday so that no disruption of lessons takes place. Parents/carers are informed of the days their children do PE and go swimming so that studs can be removed before the children come to school. Hair should be tied back.
Glasses should be worn when necessary.
General points about uniform:
- Jeans, platform shoes/mules and some “fashion” clothes and logos are not suitable. Trainers should be worn only for PE or to change into for playtimes.
- Extremes of hair colour (e.g. bright red, purple, blue, green etc), style or length are unacceptable.
- The only jewellery that may be worn is a watch and one pair of plain stud earrings, which need to be removed when taking part in PE. We recommend that ear piercing is carried out at the start of the summer holidays to provide opportunity for sufficient healing time.
- Make-up including nail varnish is not permitted.
